La Ville en Jeux

Geneva, Switzerland, has a yearly games festival in November since 2009 .

The event "La Ville en Jeux"  was held November 27th at the ""salle communale de Plainpalais". It was a fun day for all, beginners and
experienced players, children and adults. This event offered a great opportunity to enjoy both classic and new games.

Othello News spotted some familiar faces: the Juigner brothers and their mother Doris Schneider. It does not take a genius to figure out who took the picture.... Othello Star Photographer Francois Juigner

I would like to cordially invite everyone for the EGP Prague 2017.

For those who have never been to Prague, it is a great occassion to visit! The flights have gotten a bit cheaper, the highways are finally finished, the weather is booked to be snowy.

For those who had come before, we will discover some new places in the evenings, and we will try to make a record of even larger EGP!

He said last 6 move in the last game.

What happened when the team returned to Thailand with the Champion?

Some Thailand Othello players came to the airport to congratulate Piyanat.  A couple of news channels asked for Piyanat's phone number to do the news. The sponsor of Othello Team Thailand, Sosuco Group, was very happy with the succes.

Live TV and video's WOC in Mito

In case you missed these video's on WOC day 2, WOC day 3 and Mito Othello Week page, I copied the videos to the news page. The Umbrella Othello, what  a brilliant  and fun idea!

I was really impressed by the livestudio comments and images. To be able to see the faces of the players during the games, to have live comments  by top players, really the next step to promote worldwide interest in Othello tournaments.  Great job Satoshi Koide, Makoto Suekuni, Kunihiko Tanida and all the others that worked hard to make this possible.

Thanks again to Japan Othello Association and World Othello Federation for letting me be part of this major event! Thanks to all the member of the Japanese WOC crew for making me feel so welcome and for all your help!!

From the video:

Question: Yusuke Takanashi, what is your resolution for this WOC 2016?

My resolution is to break the record of Mr. Tamenori who won the World Othello Championship games 7 times in total.

If I win this tournament 2016, it would be 5th time. One more thing is that, I want to make people impressed and excited through my game.

10 years ago, I started playing the Othello and I watched World Othello Championship for the first time. It was 30th WOC in Mito where WOC takes place. That's why this is kind of impressive to me having the game in Mito

I was very amazed when I watched 30th WOC so now is the time for me to make people excited!
