Emmanuel Caspard wins Open de FournolsFournols, France, July 21st
The 2012 edition of the international Othello summercamp was held in Fournols Auvergne. Othello program has tended to lighten without disappearing completely. We have spent four to five half-days to study the game, with very educational presentations by Marc Tastet and Stéphane Nicolet. One of them, based on real games taken from the Thor database, was devoted to the endgame blunders. There was also a Blitz tournament, an endgame tournament (software Happy End) and the traditional end of the course tournament (which is also a selection in the championship of France). At the end of the 5th round, three players had four points, but the victory was for Emmanuel Caspard. The one game that Emmanuel lost was against Thierry Lévy-Abégnoli. Next year, we will probably change location, maybe go to the Vosges. We will try to give this summercamp workshop a more international dimension. from report by Thierry Lévy-Abégnoli on FFO website 1: 4 pts [227] CASPARD Emmanuel {FRA} [221] TASTET Marc (2) {FRA} [218] LEVY-ABEGNOLI Thierry {FRA} 4: 2 pts [113] CLUZON Gilles {FRA} 5: 1 pnt [136] DOUAY Elodie {FRA} 6: 0 pnt [45] TASTET Rémi {FRA} |
