Longest game ever?
I'm sitting in a coffee house, getting ready to send off my Othello move to my 80 yr old aunt. We've been playing the game of Othello through the mail since 1978! Just this one game, so far...most of the time we forget to play. (Her last move was April 2014; my last move was 21 years before that.) But I'm winning now; I might start increasing the amount of letters I write to her this year. If you feel like starting a game with your aunt, with your Othello hero, or with the Othello News editor, here are two email Othello sites:

Oskar Eklund wins Örebro Othello Open
Location: Örebro, Sweden
Date: November 21st Tourney format: 7 rounds Link: SOF website The Swedish Grand Prix Othello 2016 started with the Örebro Open. For those who want to be part of Swedish team for the WOC in Japan 2016, it's was a good plan to start early and collect points! :-) Oskar Eklund won the Örebro tournament with 5.5 points. Second place for Jeroen Everts and Daniel Turunen with 5 points. The second tournament will be played in Stockholm 12/12. I never thought I would win after my loss against Tintin in first round or after my draw against Niklas in third round. My game against Daniel Turunen in round 5 was an important victory for me and after my win in round 6 against Marcus Frönmark I was in the lead with 0.5 pts before the last round. I won the last round against Benkt and won the tournament! So I am really happy today :) |

Two videos of Italian Championship 2015
This weekend Biagio Privitera posted two videos of the Italian Championship 2015 that took place in Rome September 5-6. Great work Biagio!
It would be great if we could have such videos for all the major tourneys, WOC, Meijin, All Japan, EGP tourneys etc. Othello sponsors, we need a video budget!
